Day Trip Itinerary

08:30 AM – Stone Town Walking Tour

  • Begin your day exploring UNESCO-listed Stone Town with a local guide.

  • Visit the Old Fort, House of Wonders, Sultan’s Palace, and Freddie Mercury’s childhood home.

  • Stroll through narrow streets filled with carved doors, market vendors, and local charm.

  • Learn about the island’s Arab, Persian, Indian, and African cultural fusion.


11:00 AM – Spice Plantation Tour (Kidzimbani or Kizimbani Area)

  • Drive out to a spice farm to discover why Zanzibar is called the “Spice Island.”

  • See, smell, and taste fresh cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, lemongrass, cardamom, and more.

  • Enjoy a fruit tasting and demonstration by local farmers.

  • Optional: buy natural spice products directly from the farm.


01:00 PM – Swahili Lunch

  • Head to a local restaurant or enjoy a farm-prepared Swahili lunch.

  • Savor Zanzibari dishes like pilau rice, coconut curry, grilled seafood, and tropical fruits.


02:30 PM – Beach & Ocean Option (Choose One):

  1. Prison Island & Snorkeling

    • Take a short boat ride from Stone Town to Prison Island (Changuu).

    • Visit the giant Aldabra tortoise sanctuary and enjoy snorkeling in the clear coral-rich waters.

  2. Safari Blue (Full-Day Alternative Option)

    • For a more ocean-focused day, opt for Safari Blue, a full-day dhow trip with snorkeling, sandbank stops, seafood BBQ, and dolphin spotting. (This replaces the morning part of the itinerary.)

  3. Relaxing at Nungwi or Paje Beach

    • If you prefer to chill, head north or east to Zanzibar’s most famous beaches.

    • Enjoy white sands, swimming, or even a local dhow cruise.


04:30 PM – Souvenir Shopping & Wrap-Up

  • Return to Stone Town (if at the beach) or enjoy a short visit to Darajani Market or a local craft shop.
